Saracen takes on ITV's Ninja Warrior UK
Former Gladiator Saracen, real name Michael Lewis, has taken on TV's newest and toughest challenge - Ninja Warrior UK.

Already a smash hit in the USA, Sweden, Malaysia and Japan, Ninja Warrior UK will be hosted by Ben Shephard, Rochelle Humes and Chris Kamara. This brand new entertainment series is the ultimate test of strength, speed and courage - well at least since Gladiators was last on our TV screens!
250 ambitious contestants from all walks of life ranging from 'Have a Go Heroes' to 'Superhuman Athletes' have been invited to take on the challenges of the course. Viewers will be entertained by both those who can superbly execute the course to those who spectacularly fail, crashing out of the course into the water below. Can any survive to the end to face the vertical challenge of scaling the heights of an impressive scaling tower named, Mount Midoriyama, and be crowned the first 'Ninja Warrior UK'.
There's only one Saracen!
Saracen, who is 51 years old and works for the London Fire Brigade, filmed his Ninja Warrior UK performance on 31st March 2015 in Manchester. He was one of only four original Gladiators that lasted the entire 8 series of the original run. The 6ft 3in Gladiator was known by fans as 'The King of The Rings' due to his impressive record on the Hang Tough event, with only one Contender ever reaching his platform!
Ninja Warrior UK is a Potato production for ITV. The series was commissioned by Elaine Bedell, ITV's Director of Entertainment and Comedy and Asif Zubairy Commissioning Editor, Entertainment, ITV. The executive producers are Michael Kelpie, Martin Scott and Simon Marsh, Potato. Ninja Warrior is a Tokyo Broadcasting System Television-owned Sasuke format and will be produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios in the UK.
Gladiators was originally broadcast on ITV for 8 series from 1992-2000. It was produced by London Weekend Television (LWT) for ITV, in association with The Samuel Goldwyn Company.
